High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has called on residents of Taraba State to support President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term in the 2027 presidential election.
Gatekeepers News reports that Tompolo made the call on Saturday through Kestin Pondi, who represented him at the launch of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement’s grassroots mobilisation campaign in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.
Tompolo, who is the grand patron of the movement, said Taraba was benefiting from the policies of the Tinubu administration and that another term would allow the government to consolidate its reforms.
“Taraba is thriving because President Tinubu has good reformation policies that are moving the state forward. If we want those policies to continue and be more solid, to consolidate on them, we need to give the president another four years,” he said.
He said another term would also support further investments in Taraba and give Governor Agbu Kefas more time to implement his development programmes.
“Another four years will ensure more investments come to Taraba State,” Tompolo said.
He also argued that some challenges previously experienced by Nigerians, including fuel queues and disruptions to university education, had reduced under the Tinubu administration.
Tompolo acknowledged that government reforms could create difficulties but said more time was needed for their benefits to become evident.
“Every policy needs time to consolidate; every policy needs time to show dividends. Every policy reformation will always come with its own challenges, but once we bear a little and they pass, we will go to the smooth road we are to ride on,” he said.
He urged supporters of the movement to take the campaign to homes, religious centres, wards, local government areas and polling units to mobilise support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election.
The campaign launch also featured the donation of 25 vehicles, generators and electronic speakers to support the movement’s grassroots mobilisation activities.
Speaking at the event, Kefas said Taraba residents were already seeing the impact of federal government projects in the state.
“Taraba is ready. You don’t need to tell the people of Taraba state what the president is doing; they are seeing what the president is doing through me,” the governor said.
Kefas also pledged to support Tinubu’s re-election bid.
“I want to assure you that we are going to turn out en masse and give the President 100 percent votes. We are ready for Mr. President,” he said.
