The people of Kofar Kware in Sokoto North Local Government Area are to benefit from the construction of a new mosque for daily prayers, an Islamiyya school and three community development projects of their choice.
Gatekeepers News reports that Governor Ahmed Aliyu gave the assurance on Sunday evening during a condolence visit to the community.
The Governor expressed dissatisfaction with the condition of the mosque where he observed his Maghrib (sunset) prayer during the visit. He assured the community that his administration would reconstruct the mosque to meet modern standards and the needs of worshippers.
He urged the mosque committee to expedite the submission of the cost estimate for the reconstruction to the state government to facilitate the commencement of work.
“We will award the contract for the reconstruction of this mosque to ensure that it meets the needs of the community,” the Governor said.
Governor Aliyu also directed the community to identify and submit three development projects of priority to them for consideration and execution by the state government.
“We want to ensure that this community benefits more from the development projects being executed by the present administration across the length and breadth of our dear state,” he added.
Governor Aliyu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fulfilling its promise of building a new Sokoto State through people-oriented policies and development projects.
