The Nigerian Navy’s Operation Delta Sanity has intercepted a wooden boat carrying illegally refined petroleum products destined for Cameroon.
Gatekeepers News reports that according to a statement on the Navy’s Facebook page, the boat was intercepted on Saturday, May 18, 2024, by troops from the Forward Operating Base in Ibaka, Akwa Ibom State.
The statement revealed that the boat was carrying drums of illegally refined Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) hidden among building materials and household items.
Two suspects were arrested and are being held for handover to the relevant authorities in Akwa Ibom State.
