Reps Leaders Visit Dangote Refinery

Leadership of the House of Representatives has visited the Dangote Petroleum Refinery in Lagos.

Gatekeepers News reports that the lawmakers were led by Leader of House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas.

They arrived at the refinery located in Lekki Free Trade Zone, Lagos around 11 am and were received by President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, and top executives of the refinery.

The lawmakers took a tour of the 650,000 barrels per day refinery during the visit which marks the second time federal lawmakers will visit the refinery in two months.

The visit comes amid the company’s plan to start supply of petrol next month and challenges by international oil companies who are allegedly frustrating its access to crude oil needed for production.

Recall that Senate President, Godswill Akpabio had last month, led the leadership of the Senate on a tour of the refinery, praising the project and pledging support for it.

During the visit, Akpabio said, “whole Nigeria couldn’t make refineries function in Kaduna, Port Harcourt, and Warri, but that Dangote and his team have proven that it is possible to dream and achieve it in Nigeria.”
