JUST IN: Senator Durojaye Is Dead

Senator Olabiyi Durojaye, a leader of the Pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, is dead.

Gatekeepers News reports that a former member of the National Assembly represented Ogun East between 1999-2003 on the platform of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), Senator Olabiyi Durojaye, has died early this hours of Tuesday, after a brief illness.

Durojaiye, who died at the age of 88, was until his death a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State.

The death of the late politician came few days after the death of General Adetunji Idowu Olurin.

He earned a BSc (Economics) London, and an LLB, London and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1979. He was a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

Durojaiye also graduated from the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru. He worked in the Nigerian public sector for 35 years.

He was recently the chairman of the Board of Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

Durojaiye was a former presidential candidate in the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
