Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has been conferred with the Most Media Friendly Governor Award by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), in recognition of the developmental projects he executed, which were also transmitted live on NTA.

Gatekeepers News reports that the Director-General of NTA, Abdulhamid Salihu Dembos, presented the award to Gov. Aliyu during the 2024 NTA Cultural Display held on the premises of the NTA Sokoto Network Centre.

The State Governor’s Press Secretary, Abubakar Bawa disclosed this in a statement signed on Monday.

According to him, since the inception of his administration, Governor Aliyu has been executing laudable programmes which NTA had transmitted live for the larger society to know.

Represented by the Executive Director of Administration and Training Muhammad Fathu, Mr Dembos lauded the patronage NTA enjoys from the state government under the leadership of Gov. Ahmed Aliyu.

“The award is in appreciation of the patronage we in the NTA are enjoying from the present administration”, he said.

Responding, Gov. Ahmed Aliyu described the award as a clarion call to deliver more dividends of democracy to all the nooks and crannies of the state.

He reassured his administration’s determination to partner with the media in order to project the people-oriented projects his administration is providing to the people of the state.

Represented by the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Ibrahim Dadi Adare, Gov. Aliyu thanked NTA for identifying with his administration and called for the sustenance of such a laudable gesture.

The representative of the Governor and the State Commissioner for Local Government, Ibrahim Dadi Adare, was also conferred with the title of GARKUWAN NTA at the epochal event.
