Nyesom Wike, Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has said he doesn’t regret supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during 2023 presidential elections.
Gatekeepers News reports that the politician who was still Governor of Rivers in 2023, solicited votes for Tinubu, abandoning Atiku Abubakar, flagbearer of his party.
The former Governor of Rivers State and chieftain of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was later appointed by President Tinubu to serve as FCT Minister.
Wike while speaking during a thanksgiving service in Ochigba by PDP in Ahoada East and West Local Government Areas (LGA) of River State, thanked Tinubu for believing in him.
He said he was threatened before the presidential elections for supporting Tinubu, adding that he would do the same thing if another opportunity came.
Wike said, “I have no regrets, I have no apologies.”
“If the opportunity comes I will do the same thing.”
