We Prosecuted 454 Cases In 2024 — Police

Yobe State Police Command has said that it investigated and prosecuted 454 criminal cases in the state in 2024.

Gatekeepers News reports that the command disclosed this in a statement released by its spokesman, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, in Damaturu on Wednesday.

Abdulkarim noted that 116 other criminal cases and 17 unnatural offenses are under investigation.

He said that within the period under review, there was a significant decrease in armed robbery, kidnapping, and homicide.

Abdulkarim added that a massive reduction was also recorded in minor crimes such as theft, burglary, cheating, and farmers/herders conflicts.

According to the spokesman; sexually related offenses had also decreased due to strategies implemented by the command to protect women and children.

He expressed satisfaction with the feat recorded by the police in maintaining law and order throughout the state in 2024.

Abdulkarim said, “This commitment is reflected in the Command’s efforts to sustain its successes and build on its achievements in the coming year.”

The state Commissioner of Police, Garba Ahmed, lauded members of the public for cooperating with the police and urged them to sustain the tempo.
