The season 2 of Legends Cup and Ignite Soccer Tournament, powered by Ignite Megastars, was held simultaneously at Legacy Pitch in Surulere, Lagos, from May 3 to 6, 2025.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Ignite Soccer Tournament was designed to spotlight individual athletes and give emerging players a chance to showcase their skills.
After nationwide auditions involving about 250 contestants, a panel of ex-international footballers and top-tier coaches selected 40 standout players.
Finalists showcased their skills before an audience of fans and European scouts, who were tasked with identifying top prospects for potential scholarships and professional development opportunities abroad.
On the other hand, Legends Cup was aimed at young players already affiliated with local football clubs but in need of international visibility.
Eight teams—FC Bethel Sporting, Team360 FC, Box 2 Box FC, Charlesann FC, Oasis FC, Soliz FC, Athletic SC, and FIMA FC—competed over four days, with 36 Lion FC and Goalgetters FC joining as guest teams.
Box 2 Box FC emerged as champions, defeating Charlesann FC 2-0 in the final match held on the last day.
Ozavize Daniyan, founder of Ignite Megastars, thanked God for the success of the tournament and commended all the teams for their performance.
She reiterated her organization’s mission to connect local talent with global football opportunities by increasing visibility and access for young athletes.
Box 2 Box FC’s head coach, Randy Reuben, praised his team’s determination and resilience throughout the tournament and thanked the organisers for creating such a valuable platform.
Charles Philip Okiemute, chairman of Charlesann FC, congratulated the winners, adding that his team’s loss was caused by fatigue due to a heavy match schedule in previous weeks.
Impressed with the matches, the European scout noted that several players had been selected for trials with clubs across Europe.
