Troops Kill 60 Terrorists In Borno

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have killed 60 terrorists during a fierce overnight operations in Bita area of Borno State.

Gatekeepers News reports that the Army in a statement posted on X, revealed that the attack began at approximately 1:09 a.m. when insurgents launched an attack on the 26 Task Force Brigade.

The force noted that in response, its troops executed a combined land and air offensive that obliterated the terrorists.

The statement reads, “In a decisive and coordinated operation, gallant troops of Operation Hadin Kai launched a simultaneous land and air assault on terrorist positions in Bita, Borno State, in the early hours of today.”

“The intense battle resulted in the neutralization of at least 60 terrorists.”

Similarly, the Nigerian Air Force in a statement, said its Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai recorded a major operational success against Boko Haram terrorists.

NAF spokesman, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, noted that many insurgents were killed.

The statement reads, “In the early hours of today, 30 May 2025, NAF combat aircraft carried out precision airstrikes on fleeing terrorists in Bita, Borno State, neutralising scores of insurgents in what has been described as one of the most decisive blows against the group in recent times.”

“The highly coordinated operation, executed under the cover of darkness, represents a major leap in ongoing efforts to dismantle the operational capabilities of terrorist elements undermining national security in the North East. Ground forces have since commenced clearance and exploitation operations to consolidate on the gains achieved from the successful air strikes.”

“The NAF wishes to reassure Nigerians of its unwavering commitment to defending the nation’s territorial integrity and protecting law-abiding citizens. All necessary measures are being taken to ensure that terrorist elements have no safe haven anywhere within the country.”
