Department of State Services (DSS) has given activist Omoyele Sowore seven days to delete his anti-Tinubu remark on X.
Gatekeepers News reports that in a letter dated September 7, the security agency accused Sowore of making criminal and derogatory claims about the President in an August 26 post on X.
The DSS cautioned that if Sowore fails to retract the post within the stipulated period, it would explore all lawful means to safeguard national security and maintain public order.
Sowore in his post on X, had alleged that President Tinubu was a criminal, while also accusing him of deceiving Nigerians after reportedly claiming that corruption no longer existed under his administration.
According to DSS, the remarks conveyed through its Director of Legal Services, Uwem Davies, provoked outrage among citizens and had the potential to incite public disturbance, disunity, and even insurrection.
Human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, has fired back at the Department of State Services (DSS) after the secret police gave him a one-week ultimatum to retract his social media post criticising President Bola Tinubu.
Responding to the ultimatum via X, the former presidential candidate insisted he would never delete his words.
He wrote, “Even if you @OfficialDSSNG give me till the end of Tinubu’s tenure in 2027, I will NOT withdraw my statement (for I believe his tenure shall not go beyond on or before 2027).”
