The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has appointed Abimbola Adebisi as the new spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command.
Gatekeepers News reports that Adebisi takes over from Benjamin Hundeyin, who was recently elevated to the role of Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO). The appointment was announced in a statement issued on Monday by Babaseyi Oluseyi, deputy spokesperson of the Lagos command.
Profile of Abimbola Adebisi
Before her new role, Adebisi served as the Public Relations Liaison Officer at the Special Protection Unit (SPU) of the Force Headquarters in Abuja. She had also worked as staff officer to the Deputy Inspector-General of Police (Operations) and as personal assistant to the Commissioner of Police, SPU.
Adebisi holds a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature Education from Tai Solarin University of Education, Ogun State. She also earned a postgraduate diploma in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution, as well as a Master of Arts (MA) in English Language, both from the National Open University of Nigeria.
She is an associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), and a member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), the International Association of Women Police (IAWP), and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP).
Additionally, she obtained a certificate in Child Protection from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre in Accra, Ghana.
