Donald Trump received a grand welcome from King Charles III at Windsor Castle on Wednesday as the US president began his second state visit to the United Kingdom.
Gatekeepers News reports that the ceremony featured gun salutes, mounted horses, bagpipes, and one of the largest military displays for a visiting leader in recent British history.
More than 1,300 military personnel, including 120 horses, turned out for the ceremonial guard of honour, with many dressed in red tunics and gold-plumed helmets.
Prince William and his wife Catherine greeted Trump and First Lady Melania Trump warmly after their Marine One helicopter landed at Windsor around 12:15 pm. They then escorted the couple to meet King Charles and Queen Camilla.
On meeting, Trump shook hands with the king while a 41-gun salute echoed across the east lawn from six World War I-era cannons, and a similar display was carried out at the Tower of London.
The event also included a carriage procession through the Windsor estate, leading to the centuries-old castle where Trump and Charles once again reviewed the guard of honour.
The US national anthem was played and then the royals and their guests headed inside for lunch.
