Immigration Officer’s Wife Kidnapped In Lagos

Gunmen have kidnapped Ladi Abel, the wife of a senior immigration officer, along the Badagry–Mile 2 Expressway in Lagos State.

Gatekeepers News reports that the spokesperson of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Seme Command, Isaac Elijah, confirmed the abduction, noting that the 45-year-old woman was seized on Monday morning.

Elijah explained that Ladi, who is married to Chief Superintendent of Immigration (CSI) Abel Mada, had left her residence in the Sawmill area of Badagry around 7 a.m. to purchase goods at the Trade Fair Complex in Ojo Local Government Area before she was abducted.

He revealed that the kidnappers later reached out to her husband using her mobile phone to demand a ransom.

Elijah said, “One of the kidnappers used the woman’s phone to contact her husband, CSI Abel Mada, requesting for a sum of ₦7 million in ransom to free his wife.”

“Today (Tuesday) around 6 a.m., one of the kidnappers called again, reducing the ransom to ₦3 million if the husband wants the woman alive.”

The NIS spokesperson confirmed that the incident has been formally reported to the Badagry Police Division and the Area K Police Command, where investigations are currently ongoing.
