Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has announced a major cabinet reshuffle involving redeployment of several commissioners and tappointment of new ones.
Gatekeepers News reports that the changes were detailed in a statement on Friday by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the governor’s chief press secretary, who said the exercise was designed to enhance efficiency and strengthen governance across vital sectors.
According to Mohammed, the shake-up is part of the administration’s efforts to reposition government machinery for better service delivery and improved performance.
Under the new arrangement, Ahmad Muhammad Bakori, formerly commissioner for agriculture and livestock development, will now oversee the newly created Ministry of Livestock Development.
Aliyu Lawal Zakari, who previously led the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, has been assigned to head the Ministry of Agriculture.
Zainab Musa Musawa, former commissioner for basic and secondary education, has been transferred to the Ministry of Special Duties, while Yusuf Suleiman Jibia takes over as commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education.
In other appointments, Surajo Yazid Abukur becomes commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, and Adnan Nahabu assumes the role of commissioner for Higher, Vocational, and Technical Education.
Former director-general of Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency, Hajiya Aisha Aminu, has been appointed to lead the Ministry of Women Affairs.
The Governor also named Hadiza Abubakar Yar’adua as special adviser on nutrition and welfare services, and Isa Muhammad Musa as special adviser on cultural orientation.
The Katsina government described the reshuffle as a strategic move to boost administrative effectiveness and align ministries with emerging developmental priorities.
