The Oxford Global Think Tank has announced that Muhammadu Sanusi II, Emir of Kano, and Atedo Peterside, founder of Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc and Anap Foundation, will serve as co-chairs for its upcoming leadership conference in Abuja.
Gatekeepers News reports that according to a statement on Sunday by Williams Eze, programme delivery manager of the event, the conference will be held on Tuesday, October 28, at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton.
Eze said the gathering aims to foster high-level dialogue among leaders in government, business, and civil society on promoting ethical, inclusive, and impactful leadership for Nigeria’s development.
Held under the theme “Better Leadership for a Better Nigeria,” the conference will bring together some of the nation’s foremost thinkers and policymakers to examine Nigeria’s leadership evolution since independence and propose actionable strategies for reform, equity, and national renewal.
Distinguished personalities expected at the event include former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, former Senate Presidents Bukola Saraki and Anyim Pius Anyim, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu, and Abia State Governor Alex Otti.
Speakers lined up for the sessions include Doris Uzoka-Anite, minister of state for finance; Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, managing director of Fidelity Bank; Abubakar Suleiman, chief executive officer of Sterling Bank; and Kayode Fayemi, former governor of Ekiti State and ex-minister of solid minerals.
Eze noted that discussions will revolve around four central themes: public policy and inclusive governance, economic transformation through business leadership, technology and entrepreneurship, and intergenerational leadership transition.
During the conference, the Oxford Global Think Tank will also launch its first publication, RAMP Africa: Reforming African Minerals to Prosper Africa, alongside a book presentation by the think tank’s founder, Arunma Oteh, titled All Hands on Deck: Unleash Prosperity Through World-Class Capital Markets.
