Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has announced that several major taxpayers have completed the integration of their systems and have begun live transmission of electronic invoices ahead of the extended compliance deadline set for November 1, 2025.
Gatekeepers News reports that in a statement released on Thursday, Zacch Adedeji, Executive Chairman of the FIRS, highlighted the significant advancements made since the rollout of the national e-invoicing and Electronic Fiscal System (EFS) on August 1, 2025.
He noted that while many companies are already live on the platform, others are in the final stages of integration, with service providers working closely with businesses to achieve full compliance.
Adedeji said, “A significant number of large taxpayers have successfully completed their system integrations and commenced live transmission of e-invoices to the Service in compliance with the extended deadline of November 1, 2025.”
“The Service appreciates the cooperation and dedication shown by large taxpayers and service providers in ensuring the smooth implementation of the e-invoicing initiative.”
He urged remaining organisations yet to complete their integration to comply promptly with the e-invoicing directive, in line with provisions of existing tax laws.
Adedeji further reaffirmed FIRS’s commitment to assisting taxpayers through ongoing stakeholder engagement, technical support, and training programs to facilitate a seamless transition.
The e-invoicing platform, launched on August 10, is part of FIRS’s efforts to enhance transparency, strengthen tax compliance, and modernise Nigeria’s revenue collection framework.
The Electronic Fiscal System provides real-time monitoring of commercial transactions and ensures that all invoices are authentic, accurate, and complete.
