Nigeria’s Nnadozie Nominated For 2025 FIFA- The Best Award

Nigeria’s Chiamaka Nnadozie has been nominated for the 2025 FIFA The Best Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award, following an exceptional year for both club and country.

Gatekeepers Newreports that the world football governing body announced that the shortlist covers performances between 11 August 2024 and 2 August 2025.

In its citation, FIFA hailed Nnadozie’s outstanding displays, noting her heroics for Paris FC in the Coupe de France final.

“The Nigerian was magnificent as Paris FC stunned Paris Saint-Germain in the Coupe de France final, keeping a clean sheet and then denying two penalties in the shootout,” FIFA wrote.

The 24-year-old also shone on the international stage, playing a pivotal role as the Super Falcons reclaimed the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Rabat, Morocco.
Nnadozie featured in all six matches, conceding only three goals—two of them in the final—and keeping four clean sheets, as Nigeria lifted a record 10th WAFCON trophy.

Her performances earned her widespread praise from pundits and fans, further cementing her reputation as one of the best goalkeepers in women’s football.

Other nominees for the FIFA The Best Women’s Goalkeeper award include Ann-Katrin Berger (Germany), Cata Coll (Spain), Christiane Endler (Chile), Hannah Hampton (England), Anna Moorhouse (England), and Phallon Tullis-Joyce (USA).

The latest nomination adds to a growing list of accolades for Nnadozie, who also finished fourth in the 2025 Women’s Yachine Trophy at the Ballon d’Or and is a strong contender for her third consecutive CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award.
