Nigerian content creator and rising Nollywood actor Odira Nwobu has died in South Africa.
Gatekeepers News reports that Nwobu passed away only hours after spending the night at a club in South Africa over the weekend.
Nwobu’s colleague, Awuzie Frankline announced his demise in a deeply emotional Facebook post.
Frankline, clearly devastated, lamented the loss in several posts. He wrote, “God, why! Odira, why leave us?” “The call I received now was not a good one. Odiegwu.”
He later reflected on how recently Nwobu appeared healthy and cheerful saying, “You were full of life even some hours ago in South Africa, and you even had your thanksgiving service just a few months ago.”
“Many people came to celebrate with you. How can you return from South Africa lifeless? I am drowning in tears. Death is rude. I am heartbroken.”
Comedian Evan Okoro also reacted in disbelief, posting a photo of the actor with the caption, “How? No… I can’t believe this. Nooooo.”
