President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has forwarded 32 ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for confirmation.
Gatekeepers News reports that this was announced in a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the president on Information and Strategy.
The list includes Reno Omokri, former presidential aide; Mahmood Yakubu, former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC); Angela Adebayo, former Ekiti first lady; Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, former Governor of Enugu; Femi Pedro, former deputy Governor of Lagos; Femi Fani-Kayode, former aviation minister; Fatima Florence Ajimobi, former Oyo first lady; Grace Bent, former senator; Victor Okezie Ikpeazu, former Abia governor; and Jimoh Ibrahim, senator from Ondo; Ogbonnaya Kalu, former presidential aide; Tasiu Musa Maigari, former speaker of the Katsina house of assembly; Yakubu N. Gambo, former commissioner in Plateau; Nora Ladi Daduut.
Others are former Plateau senator; Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu; Lola Akande, former Lagos commissioner; Paul Oga Adikwu, former ambassador to the Holy See; Enebechi Monica Okwuchukwu; Yakubu Nyaku Danladi; Miamuna Ibrahim Besto; Musa Musa Abubakar; Syndoph Paebi Endoni; Chima Geoffrey Lioma David; Mopelola Adeola-Ibrahim; Abimbola Samuel Reuben; Yvonne Ehinosen Odumah; Hamza Mohammed Salau; Shehu Barde; Ahmed Mohammed Monguno; Muhammad Saidu Dahiru; Olatunji Ahmed Sulu Gambari; and Wahab Adekola Akande.
Onanuga said the nominees will be deployed to countries where Nigeria maintains key diplomatic ties, including China, India, South Korea, Canada, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, South Africa, and Kenya, as well as missions such as the United Nations, UNESCO, and the African Union.
Their specific postings will be determined after Senate confirmation.
