Troops Free 10 Abducted Women In Kaduna After Dawn Operation

A credible source at Army Headquarters confirmed the development to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, explaining that the victims were abducted from their farms in Unguwan Nungu on November 29, prompting Sector 5 troops to launch a sustained search-and-rescue mission.

Gatekeepers Newreports that the source said the breakthrough came at about 6:40 a.m. on Friday, when troops intercepted the kidnappers as they attempted to collect ransom from the victims’ relatives.

According to him, the soldiers engaged the criminals “with superior firepower, forcing them to abandon the captives and flee.”

He added that the troops recovered a fabricated AK-47 rifle, one round of 9mm ammunition, and ₦1.6 million, described as part of the ransom money.

“The rescued women have since been debriefed and reunited with their families, while efforts are underway to track down the fleeing kidnappers,” he said.

The source noted that the Nigerian Army remains committed to restoring peace and security across the country. He added that the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has commended the troops for their efforts and urged them to sustain the pressure on terrorists, bandits, and other criminal elements.
