Yahaya Denies Allegations Linking Him To Terrorism Financing

Lieutenant General (Dr) Faruk Yahaya (rtd) CFR, Zaruman Sokoto and former Chief of Army Staff, has denied claims linking him to individuals allegedly involved in terrorism financing.

Gatekeepers News reports that the allegations, made by Major General Danjuma Ali-Keffi (rtd) and published by Sahara Reporters, were described as false, malicious and without any factual basis.

A statement issued by Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman (Rtd) on Yahaya’s behalf said he has never had any direct or indirect association with anyone involved in terrorism financing throughout his military career or after leaving office.

The statement said Ali-Keffi was pursuing a personal vendetta rooted in disciplinary actions taken during Yahaya’s service, describing the publication as an attempt to tarnish his reputation.

It added that Sahara Reporters published the claims without basic verification, despite Yahaya’s record of professional integrity, modest lifestyle and long-standing commitment to national security.

The statement rejected any effort to associate Yahaya with terrorism and demanded an immediate retraction and correction of the allegations by Ali-Keffi, Sahara Reporters and others circulating the claims. It warned that legal action would be taken if the parties fail to comply.

It added that Nigeria’s fight against terrorism requires responsibility and truth, not what it described as malicious propaganda aimed at individuals who have served the nation.
