Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a new credit arrangement for oil marketers.

Gatekeepers News reports that the refinery also confirmed plans to commence free delivery of petroleum products nationwide, as part of broader efforts to expand market reach and boost local supply.

The initiative is also tied to recent price reductions aimed at making locally refined fuel more competitive.

Earlier this month, the refinery reduced the ex-gantry price of petrol to N699 per litre, cutting N129 from the previous N828 rate.

In a notice issued on Friday, the company invited petrol station owners and dealers across the country to register their outlets to benefit from the revised pricing and logistics support.

It said, “This offer is available to all petrol station owners and dealers nationwide. Our free direct delivery service will commence soon.”

In a further update shared on Dangote Group’s official X account on Saturday, the refinery disclosed that both existing and new customers can now place minimum purchase orders of 250,000 litres, down from the earlier requirement of 500,000 litres.

The company also announced a 10-day credit facility for oil marketers, subject to a bank guarantee, to ease cash-flow pressures and encourage wider participation.

According to reports, the measures are expected to reduce distribution costs for marketers, improve fuel availability, and help stabilise pump prices, especially as Nigeria increasingly relies on domestic refining following subsidy reforms.

Dangote Refinery, with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, is Africa’s largest single-train refinery and is central to the federal government’s push to cut fuel imports.

In December 2025, Aliko Dangote, president of the Dangote Group, reiterated that the refinery would continue to adjust petrol prices downward where possible in order to compete with imported fuel and pass cost savings to consumers.
