Federal government has signed a newly renegotiated agreement with the Academic Staff Union of Universities in a move aimed at ending recurring strikes in public universities across the country.
Gatekeepers News reports that the agreement was presented during a ceremony held at the headquarters of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund in Abuja.
The event marked the conclusion of prolonged discussions between the government and the university lecturers’ union over unresolved welfare and funding issues.
The signing ceremony was presided over by minister of education, Tunji Alausa, alongside minister of state for education, Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmad.
