A Lagos High Court has ruled that actress Doris Ogala and social media figure VeryDarkMan (VDM) must refrain from mentioning Pastor Chris Okafor or his ministry, the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry, on social media and other platforms while a pending lawsuit continues.
Gatekeepers News reports that the suit, filed by Okafor through his lawyer Ife Ajayi and marked ID/14399GCMW/2026, also names Kelvin Emmanuel as a defendant. On Thursday, Justice M. A. Savage granted an order preventing the defendants along with anyone acting on their behalf from publishing or sharing private materials that refer to Okafor, including written or spoken statements, images, videos, recordings, and posts.
The judge further prohibited the release of anything that could be interpreted as blackmail or extortion. The restraining order will remain in effect until the substantive case is resolved.
The court also permitted substituted service in the case, authorising the serving of court documents via newspaper publication where direct service may not be possible.
The legal row stems from an interview conducted by VeryDarkMan with a woman identified as Chi Okafor, who claimed in footage that she and two other women are Pastor Okafor’s biological children and accused him of abandonment. Okafor denied these claims and said he would take legal action.
Tensions escalated earlier when a video circulated online showing Okafor’s engagement to Pearl Okafor. Doris Ogala publicly claimed she had been in a romantic relationship with Okafor since 2017, asserting that she ended her previous marriage at his request and that he broke promises to marry her. Ogala later threatened legal action, demanding either marriage or financial compensation, including a figure of N1 billion for breach of promise.
Okafor went ahead with his wedding to Pearl Okafor in both white and traditional ceremonies, describing Ogala’s criticism at one point as the devil’s anger against his happiness. However, in a later public statement, he knelt before Ogala and apologised, acknowledging aspects of their past relationship.
