Gov Okpebholo Approves Minor Cabinet Reshuffle

Governor Monday Okpebholo has approved a minor reshuffle in Edo State Executive Council.

Gatekeepers News reports that this is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen governance, improve service delivery, and boost efficiency across the state administration.

The development was announced in a statement released by Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq, Secretary to the State Government (SSG) on Friday, 30th January 2026.

As part of the changes, Barr. Vincent Osas Uwadiae has been moved from the Ministry of Oil and Gas Resources to the Ministry of Lands and Housing as Commissioner. Hon. Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa, who was Commissioner for Lands and Housing, has been appointed as Chief of Staff to the Governor at the Governor’s Office.

Also, Hon. Gani Audu, the outgoing Chief of Staff, has been nominated to take over as Commissioner for Oil and Gas Resources, pending confirmation by the Edo State House of Assembly.

According to the statement, the minor cabinet reshuffle takes effect from January 30, 2026.

The Governor expressed confidence that the adjustments will strengthen coordination, support policy implementation, and promote effective governance in Edo State.
