PSC Promotes Of 13 CPs – 17 DCPs And 18 ACPs

Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of several senior officers of Nigeria Police Force, elevating 13 Commissioners of Police (CPs) to the rank of Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) in a fresh round of promotions aimed at strengthening the leadership structure of the force.

Gatekeepers News reports that the commission also promoted 17 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) to Commissioners of Police (CPs) and elevated 18 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) to the rank of Deputy Commissioners, as part of a wider restructuring exercise within the police hierarchy.

According to a statement issued by the PSC’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, the promotions followed a rigorous assessment process, including written examinations and oral interviews conducted at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.

Ani said the exercise forms part of the commission’s efforts to reward merit, professionalism and dedication among senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force.

The PSC noted that the list of promoted officers has already been communicated to the Inspector-General of Police for implementation.

Among the 13 officers elevated from CP to AIG are Emmanuel Ado Christopher, Joseph Eribo, Dantawaye Miller, Uche Ifeanyi Henry, Olarenwaju Peter Ogunlowo, Muhammad Dahiru, Dankombo Morris, Bello Shehu, Ibrahim B. Maikaba, Ahmed Musa, Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, Simeon Udofia Akpanudom, and Haruna Olufemi.

The commission said 17 DCPs were also promoted to Commissioners of Police, while 18 ACPs were elevated to the rank of Deputy Commissioners of Police.

PSC Chairman Hashimu Salihu Argungu congratulated the promoted officers and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by demonstrating higher levels of professionalism, discipline and commitment to effective policing.

He added that the commission remains committed to strengthening the Nigeria Police Force through transparent and merit-based promotions.
