Nigerian sprinter Miracle Ezechukwu delivered an outstanding performance at the MTN Champs Continental Relays in Jos, winning both the women’s 100m and 200m titles.
Gatekeepers News reports that she first secured victory in the 100m, clocking 11.26 seconds, before returning to dominate the 200m final with a personal best time of 22.91 seconds.
Her 200m run stood out as the fastest outdoor time by an African woman in 2026 and marked the first sub-23-second performance by a Nigerian on home soil since 2021.
Ezechukwu’s success did not end there, as she also contributed to a relay victory, completing an impressive outing at the event.
In the 200m race, Rosemary Nwankwo finished second with a personal best of 23.17 seconds, while Lucy Nwankwo came third in 23.76 seconds, also setting a new personal record.
The MTN Champs, held at the New Jos Stadium, brought together emerging athletic talents from across the country, with Ezechukwu’s double victory emerging as one of the major highlights of the competition.
