Workers of Seplat Energy have suspended their strike just hours after it began, following a resolution of disputes with the company’s management.

Gatekeepers News reports that the industrial action, led by members of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, started on Friday after negotiations over the 2026 collective bargaining agreement (CBA) and staff welfare issues broke down.

Workers had planned to halt key operations such as production reporting and export activities, while maintaining only essential safety and power functions during the strike.

However, the strike was quickly suspended after intervention by stakeholders, with PENGASSAN confirming that Seplat management agreed to the union’s demands. The union’s president, Festus Osifo, said the action was called off after the company accepted the proposed CBA terms.

Only senior staff under PENGASSAN participated in the strike, while junior workers affiliated with another union were not involved.
