Abba Yusuf has expressed confidence that All Progressives Congress (APC) will maintain political dominance in Kano State and across the country ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Gatekeepers News reports that according to supporters who turned out in large numbers to welcome him after returning from political engagements in Abuja, the Governor downplayed the strength of opposition parties, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC), insisting the APC remains the most formidable platform.
“APC in Kano State is the only winning party. There is no other party that can take control of Kano and Nigeria, by the grace of Allah,” he said.
Yusuf also addressed speculations about his tenure, rejecting claims that he would serve only one term, while highlighting his political journey.
“We did one term in NNPP and left. We will do the second term in APC. There are two terms in APC, the party of the people,” he stated.
The Governor further declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, pledging that Kano would back his re-election bid.
“We in Kano are fully behind Mr President and will support his re-election, by the grace of Allah,” he added.
He also assured residents of continued development efforts across key sectors, including education, healthcare, agriculture, and youth empowerment.
“We will continue to deliver dividends of democracy in education, infrastructure, health, agriculture, and youth empowerment for both men and women,” he said.
Yusuf urged eligible voters to register with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the elections.
“I call on all of you to rededicate yourselves to the service of our great party and ensure you register with INEC so that you can come out and support APC in 2027,” he appealed.
Meanwhile, APC chairman in the state, Umar Doguwa, said the large turnout during the reception demonstrated strong grassroots support for the governor and his administration.
