Former INEC Chairman, Attahiru Jega has denied nursing presidential ambition.
Gatekeepers News reports that former Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega has denied nursing presidential ambition or any political election ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Jega said this at the ongoing maiden inaugural lecture of the Kwara Visioners, at the University of Ilorin Main Auditorium, Ilorin, Kwara State.
Jega said, “I have no presidential ambition, I have no ambition, I didn’t disclose to anyone that I have an ambition.
“Though, I have joined a political party with the intention of contributing my little quota to the development of the country.
“There’s a lot of process that contributes to running for office, I’m not interested for now.
“I am a Muslim and believe in destiny, I don’t know what the almighty God has in stock for me.”
The Head of Current and Public Affairs, TVC, Babajide Kolade Otitoju, 2019 Presidential Candidate of the ANRP, Tope Fasua, Former Unilorin Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shuaib Abdulraheem Oba are also in attendance.
