Cambodian authorities have dismissed reports claiming the government ordered all African nationals to leave the country, describing the viral notice circulating online as false and misleading.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Cambodian Ministry of Interior clarified that the message did not originate from any official government source and insisted that no policy has been introduced targeting Africans or any other foreign nationals for removal from the country.
According to officials, Cambodia remains open to foreigners for tourism, business, and employment, provided they comply with the country’s immigration laws and regulations.
Authorities explained that the claim stemmed from misinformation spreading across social media platforms, where posts falsely alleged that Africans had been given a deadline to exit Cambodia.
The government warned that the circulation of such false information could create unnecessary panic and damage the country’s international image.
Officials reiterated that no mass exit order had been issued and stressed that the reports suggesting otherwise are completely untrue.
