Armed gunmen have abducted the younger sister of Nigerian politician Adebayo Adelabu, Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, along with her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Gatekeepers News reports that according to a statement issued by Adelabu’s media aide, Femi Awogboro, the incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday while Mrs. John-Paul was taking her children to school.
The assailants reportedly intercepted them and forcefully whisked them away to an unknown location.
The family said Mrs. John-Paul, 43, is a former employee of the Central Bank of Nigeria and First Bank Pension Custodian. She voluntarily retired last year and relocated to Ibadan with her children while preparing to join her husband in the United States.
The Adelabu family confirmed that security agencies were immediately notified and have launched investigations and rescue operations.
They appealed to the public to remain calm, avoid spreading unverified information, and support ongoing efforts to secure the safe release of the victims.
