Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, State APC leader, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, and Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Tukur Bala Bodinga, have attended the funeral prayer of the late Alhaji Mansur, Sarkin Fadan Jarman Sokoto.
Gatekeepers News reports that Mansur, who was a son-in-law to APC stalwart, Alhaji Ummarun Kwabo, died on Thursday afternoon at a hospital in Abuja at the age of 54 after a brief illness.
The funeral prayer was held at the Abu Huraira Jumu’at Mosque, Polo Club, Sokoto, and was led by Malam Bello Birnin Kebbi.
The deceased is survived by two wives and 12 children.
Other dignitaries at the prayer included Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly, Kabir Ibrahim Kware, members of the legislature, commissioners, special advisers, senior special assistants and other government officials.
Governor Aliyu described the deceased as a pious and devoted Muslim, expressing shock over his death.
He prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased’s shortcomings, acceptance of his good deeds and his admission into Jannatul Firdaus.
The Governor also prayed for strength and fortitude for the family to bear the loss.
