President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Vice-President Kashim Shettima on his 60th birthday, describing him as a trusted and loyal partner in the administration.
Gatekeepers News reports that in a statement personally signed on Tuesday, Tinubu praised Shettima’s “unwavering dedication” to Nigeria’s progress, unity and development.
“Today, I warmly congratulate Vice President Kashim Shettima, my brother and partner in steering the ship of our state, on his 60th birthday on September 2. I rejoice with his wife, Nana, children, family and political associates on this important milestone,” the president said.
“Kashim is not just a trusted ally or a valued colleague, but also a patriot whose life has been defined by service, commitment and sacrifice for worthy causes.”
Tinubu recalled Shettima’s career in banking and his tenure as governor of Borno State, saying the vice-president demonstrated courage, diligence and compassion while remaining committed to improving the lives of Nigerians.
“I acknowledge, in particular, Vice-President Shettima’s loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), support for the administration and his unwavering dedication to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Tinubu said.
The president also commended Shettima’s role as chairman of the National Economic Council (NEC), saying he had provided “purposeful leadership in coordinating economic policy and fostering collaboration” between the federal and state governments.
Tinubu said Shettima’s commitment to constitutional governance, democratic institutions, dialogue and consultation had contributed to strengthening good governance in the country.
“As a trusted partner, his loyalty, wisdom and sense of duty have remained invaluable to the administration. I must thank Vice President Shettima for his steadfast support and partnership as we continue to join hands in delivering the promises of Renewed Hope to Nigerians,” he said.
The president expressed confidence that the partnership between him and Shettima would continue to yield results for the country.
He said he was confident that, working together, they would make “meaningful progress towards building the Nigeria of their dreams”.
