Asake Cancels Los Angeles Concert Days Before Scheduled Performance

Nigerian Afrobeats singer Asake has cancelled his scheduled concert in Los Angeles, United States, as part of his ongoing In God We Trust tour.

Gatekeepers News reports that the concert was billed to take place at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 6, 2026. TheCable confirmed the cancellation on Friday, September 4.

According to the notification issued to ticket holders, the event has been cancelled and buyers will receive automatic refunds. The organisers said refunds would be returned to the cards used for payment within five business days, with an additional two to three days allowed for the funds to reflect.

No official reason was given for the cancellation.

The development has generated reactions online, with some social media users speculating that poor ticket sales may have prompted the cancellation. Others disputed the claim, saying the concert had been close to selling out before it was called off. TheCable did not establish that ticket sales were responsible for the cancellation.

The Los Angeles performance was part of Asake’s 2026 In God We Trust tour, which features South African DJ and producer Uncle Waffles. The tour includes dates across North America and Europe.

The cancellation comes as Asake continues the North American leg of the tour. His schedule had included performances in cities such as Miami and Houston before the Los Angeles date.
