Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury will finally meet in the ring on December 11, 2026, with the long-awaited heavyweight bout scheduled to take place at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. The fight was confirmed on Thursday by Saudi boxing official Turki Alalshikh and the fighters’ promotional teams.
Gatekeepers News reports that the all-British heavyweight contest will be streamed globally on Netflix, with the event being promoted in collaboration with The Ring and Dana White. A press conference involving both fighters is scheduled for September 30 in London.
Joshua and Fury have been linked with a fight for several years, but previous attempts to arrange the bout failed. The two former world champions have never faced each other professionally, making the December meeting their first contest.
The fight will mark Joshua’s return following his July victory over Albanian heavyweight Kristian Prenga in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Joshua recovered from two first-round knockdowns before stopping Prenga in the second round.
Fury, meanwhile, returned from retirement earlier this year and defeated Arslanbek Makhmudov by unanimous decision in April. He subsequently recorded another victory over Mariusz Wach as he continued his comeback.
Joshua, 36, has a professional record of 30 wins and four defeats, including 27 victories by knockout, while Fury enters the contest with 36 wins, two defeats and one draw, with 25 knockouts.
The location of the fight had been a major point of discussion during negotiations, with several venues previously considered. The confirmation of Cardiff means the long-awaited meeting will take place in the United Kingdom.
The Principality Stadium, which has hosted major boxing events, will stage the bout on December 11, with organisers describing the contest as a meeting between two of the leading heavyweight names of their generation.
