A youth clash in Jahun Local Government Area of Jigawa State has left one person dead and another injured, with two suspects arrested in connection with the incident.
Gatekeepers News reports that the incident occurred around 11:30pm on Wednesday, September 23, when residents reportedly heard shouting from the centre of a Fulani settlement and rushed to the scene.
Two youths were found seriously injured and were taken to the Primary Health Centre, Aujara, for treatment.
One of the victims, 20-year-old Umar Abdullahi, later died while receiving medical attention, while the second victim, 19-year-old Sule Adamu, was said to be responding to treatment.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said its Aujara office received a distress call from a resident and immediately mobilised personnel to the community.
Two suspects have been arrested by the police in connection with the incident and are currently being investigated.
Authorities have, however, yet to establish what triggered the confrontation or determine the full circumstances surrounding the clash.
Investigators are expected to establish what led to the confrontation, identify those involved and determine the circumstances that resulted in the death of Abdullahi.
