President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Thursday for Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to perform Umrah, an Islamic pilgrimage to the holy city.
Gatekeepers News reports that Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday.
Tinubu is expected to use the spiritual journey to pray for Nigeria and seek divine guidance, according to the purpose attributed to his planned pilgrimage.
Umrah is a religious pilgrimage undertaken by Muslims in Makkah and can be performed at any time of the year, unlike Hajj, which takes place during a specific period in the Islamic calendar.
