The Nigerian Senate has rejected the clause creating additional seats for Women in the national assembly.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Senate rejected the clause during the constitution amendment plenary session.
The Bill seeks to alter the Provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 to Provide for Special Seat for Women in the National and State Houses of Assembly; & for Related Matters.
30 senators voted in support while 58 senators voted against.
