Real Madrid will officially announce the departure of its captain, Sergio Ramos on Thursday.
Gatekeepers News reports that Real Madrid has confirmed that its captain Sergio Ramos will not be renewing his contract once it expires in the summer.
Real through its website on Wednesday, stated that it will officially announce the departure of Ramos on Thursday.
The Spanish club statement read,
“Real Madrid C. F. announces that tomorrow, Thursday 17 June, at 12:30 p.m., an institutional act of tribute and farewell to our captain Sergio Ramos will be held, which will be attended by our president Florentino Pérez.
“Sergio Ramos will then appear before the media in a virtual press conference.”
Ramos who joined the club in 2005 will be leaving with won four Champions League titles, five La Liga trophies, and two Copa del Rey titles, being Real Madrid’s second most honoured player just after Paco Gento.
The defender will be remembered for his leadership skills and his natural ability to perform on the big stage.
