Tension has gripped Unguwar Yero and Badarawa Kwaru of Kaduna North Local Government Area following the death of a teenager in the area.
Gatekeepers News reports that the deceased was allegedly tortured by local vigilante members at Unguwar Yero after arresting him with a knife.
The incident happened in the morning and the deceased died at the hospital where he was receiving treatment.
According to report, his death angered other youths from his Badarawa Kwaru community as they also stabbed a youth from the Unguwar Yero community in retaliation.
A youth leader in the area who identified himself as Mohammad Mohammed said security agencies have been deployed to the area to maintain law and order.
It was further gathered that the two communities have a history of religious and ethnic crises in the state.
When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Jalige, promised to call back after getting details of what transpired from the Divisional Police Officer at the community but didn’t call back and didn’t respond to his calls at the time of filing this report.
