Donald Trump Posts Mugshot As He Returns To X

Former US President Donald Trump has posted his mugshot on X, (formerly known as Twitter).

Gatekeeper News reports that Trump became the first former US president to have a mugshot, after being booked in Georgia on charges of plotting to overturn the state’s 2020 election results.

Trump, who was also booked on a dozen felony counts, paid a bail bond of $200,000 for his release from the Fulton County jail as he awaits trial.

Soon after the mugshot was taken, Trump posted it on his own Truth Social platform with the caption “Election Interference” and a link to his campaign website.

A short while later, the former president posted it on X — formerly Twitter, his favourite bullhorn before he was banned from it after the January 6, 2021 insurrection at the US Capitol by a mob of his supporters.

The post marks Trump’s first on the platform in more than two years.

His account was banned following the January 6, 2021 invasion of the US Capitol, the seat of Congress but was reinstated by Elon Musk in November 2022.

Meanwhile, Trump has insisted he had been “arrested despite having committed no crime”.
