Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, on Tuesday, advised suspected Boko Haram terrorists in any part of the country to either surrender or be ready to face the renewed fighting spirit of the Nigeria Military.
Gatekeepers News reports that the CDS made the disclosure in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital where he also met with troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) fighting the Boko Haram terrorists in the North East Region.
According to the CDS, measures are already being put in place that will ensure total elimination of Boko Haram terrorists if they don’t to surrender.
“To the criminals, their days are numbered; its just a matter of time. We’re going to get them all. For their own sake, we advice them to surrender or fizzle out of the country completely,” adding that “we’re going to make Nigeria too hot for criminals to remain in,” Gen Musa said.
The CDS who arrived Maiduguri along side the Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla stated that the military is getting all the required support form the presidency that has further improved their operational capabilities in dealing decisively with all security threats.
General Musa revealed that the military is re-adjusting its operations and enhancing the capability of the officers and men with a view to achieving peace in all parts of the country
“We’re going through so many challenges as a Nation, but the members of the Armed Forces and the para – military agencies are assuring Nigerians that we’re committed and dedicated at ensuring peace in Nigeria,” he said, pointing out that “whatever is happening now is momentary.”
The CDS also charged troops of OPHK not to relent in thier efforts and charged them to sustain the positive fighting spirit towards bringing the over a decade long insurgency to an end.
He therefore extended the commendation of President Bola Tinubu to the troops and assured them of his continued support in all areas of discharging their duties.
