Otunba Adejare Adegbenro, a Nigerian industrialist and security expert, has been appointed as High Commissioner by the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC), a Transnational Intergovernmental Organization based in Zurich, Switzerland.
Gatekeepers News reports that the appointment is part of IHRC’s Europe-Africa Cooperation Agenda, focusing on peace, security, democracy, human rights, development, and sustainable economic growth in Nigeria.
Otunba Adegbenro will serve in IHRC’s Foreign Special Mission, working to prevent illegal migration and human trafficking.
Speaking during the special decoration and presentation of his certificate as a High Commissioner in Abuja, the IHRC Ambassador-at-Large and Head of Diplomatic Mission in Nigeria, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Duru Hezekiah, emphasized Adegbenro’s expertise, patriotism, and commitment to nation-building as key factors in the appointment.
Ambassador Hezekiah urged him to implore his expertise and skills in the prevention of illegal migration and human trafficking, foster international collaborations, and provide strategic guidance on matters of global significance to the organisation.
Otunba Ambassador Adegbenro is the Acting Director-General of the National Commission Against the Proliferation of Arms, Light Weapons, and Pipeline Vandalism (NATCOM) and Chief Executive Officer of Balmoral International Limited.
