Malian President and other top officials have been arrested by the Military.
Gatekeepers News quotes Reuters as saying Military officers in Mali arrested the President, prime minister and defence minister of the country’s interim government on Monday after a cabinet reshuffle.
President Bah Ndaw, Prime Minister Moctar Ouane and defence minister Souleymane Doucoure were all said to have been detained at a military base in Kati outside the capital Bamako.
Gatekeepers News reports that the development comes just few months after a military coup overthrew President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita in August.
Ndaw and Ouane were tasked with overseeing an 18-month transition back to civilian rule after the takeover.
