Gatekeepers News reports that about twenty people have been killed after suspected bandits stormed Igangan on motorcycles to unleashed the attack overnight on the residents of the community.
According to reports, the attackers also set the palace of the monarch in the agrarian town ablaze.
The attack occurs barely a week after the Chairman of Amotekun Corps in Oyo State, General Ajibola Togun (rtd) raised an alarm that some foreign herders were planning to unleash terror on the six states in the South West.
The State Governor, Seyi Makinde has condemned the gruesome attack on Igangan residents.
Makinde, in a statement seen by Gatekeepers News on Sunday morning, disclosed that security operatives have been deployed to the community.
“I have received the shocking news of the attacks on residents of Igangan, Ibarapaland, in the early hours of this morning.
“I am currently being briefed on the incidents. I urge residents to remain calm as security operatives are now in control of the situation.”
