Will Smith and Kevin Hart have taken over Red Table Talk for Father’s Day edition.
Gatekeepers News reports that Bad Boys actor, Will Smith and stand-up comedian, Kevin Hart are taking over the Red Table Talk on a special episode to be aired on Father’s Day.
Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith, and Adrienne Banfield-Norris will be relinquishing their usual hosting duties to make way for the special episode.
The Philadelphia natives sat down for a sincere discussion on fatherhood, parenting mistakes, and the lessons they’ve learnt along the way.
Smith in the show’s trailer said, “What makes a good father?”
Hart replied, “Being different from mine.”
Smith said “I literally had to learn how to care about how people feel. It is a vicious betrayal to not care how they feel.”
Hart added, “When your child shows disappointment – you don’t realise the impact that your mistakes can truly have.”
The duo also swapped stories about guiding their teenage daughters as they started exploring relationships.
Hart when asked if his 16-year-old daughter Heaven had shown any interest in boys, responded, “She talks to me about it and I had to learn to be okay! I had to learn to not say, ‘Get the f—- out of here. What are you talking about?!”
Smith on the other hand said, “One of the things I ran into with Willow, because she was raised around good men, she has a little bit of naivete around what [predatory] behavior would be like… Willow’s 20 now, but from 16 to 19, I really found myself colliding with her. I just felt like she didn’t totally comprehend some of the difficulties.”
Meanwhile, Smith and Hart are also teaming up to star in and produce a remake of the 1987 comedy Planes, Trains & Automobiles for Paramount Pictures. The original film was directed by the late John Hughes. It starred Steve Martin and the late John Candy as a pair of mismatched businessmen on a journey rife with misadventures as they scramble to get home to Chicago for Thanksgiving.
This Father’s Day episode makes it the second time Smith has taken the reins at the red table.
The first was in November 2020, where he reunited with the original Aunt Viv, Janet Hubert on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, to squash their bitter, 30 year-long dispute.
The Father’s Day special Red Table Talk episode with Hart airs on Sunday, June 20 on Facebook Watch at 9 a.m. PT/12 p.m. ET.
