Ayade’s Defection Caused Broom Scarcity —Cross River APC

Cross River State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that the defection of the state Governor to the APC has caused broom scarcity.

Gatekeepers News reports that The Cross River chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) says it has placed an order for three million bunches of broomsticks from local makers for new entrants into the party noting that the defection of Governor Ayade into the All Progressives Congress (APC) has caused broom scarcity in the state.

APC publicity secretary in the state, Bassey Ita disclosed this in a statement.

Ita noted that broom, which is the APC’s symbol, has become scarce in the state following the influx of new members.

He explained that the influx of many people to the party followed that of Ben Ayade, the state governor, in May.

Ita said the party ordered three million bunches of broom sticks from local suppliers to meet the growing demand.

“It is no longer news that the broom revolution has since hit our dear state, following the defection of our amiable governor to our party.

“But what is now news is that broom scarcity has hit Cross River as millions of our people continue to identify with the party.

“Last weekend, local government chairmen, councillors, federal and state lawmakers, alongside 100,000 of their supporters in Bekwarra, Ikom and Etung council areas joined the party.” the statement read in part.

The statement added that party has begun moves to procure the three million brooms, “because we cannot afford to deny Cross Riverians the possession of our party symbol as they troop into the APC”.
