The University of Lagos has shut its hostels over the fear of COVID-19.

Gatekeepers News reports that the University of Lagos Senate has directed that all students vacate the institution’s hostel to check the spread of COVID-19 on the campus.

The University Senate, after an emergency meeting at the J. F. Ade Ajayi Auditorium, ordered students to vacate the halls of residence latest by noon on Thursday, July 15, 2021.

Gatekeepers News gathered that while the hostels will be locked indefinitely, lectures for the rest of the semester will be delivered virtually with effect from July 26, 2021.

The students have therefore been advised to move all their personal belongings at once.
